You know, I come to the library so I can focus on my work. Because when I'm at home I just goof around, and end up procrastinating.
I assume that when in the library, there will be quiet. Sure, the occasional cell phone will ring. Or some jerk will talk loudly to someone else for a bit. But, for the majority of the time, I should be able to enjoy some peace and quiet.
Oh no. Not according to....Frustrated Older Woman Using the Computer For Apparently The First Time.
See, FOWUTCFATFT, or FOW as we shall now call her, feels that everyone needs to feel her annoyance. She has to make loud huffy frustrated noises when the computer merely responds to her incorrect inputs. She has to ask loud questions in a not so subtle way of trying to pull the person next to her into helping her. But you know, when a FOW pulls you in, she does not let go. I am all about helping people on the computer. But to teach you how to use it almost entirely? I gotta charge for that stuff, man. I don't have time to teach you how to use a word document, I gotta read a chapter and write a response paper! Call me cold hearted, but if my 58 year old mother can use a computer like a pro by now, SO CAN YOU. Even if you are having trouble, do not announce it to the entire world passive aggressively. Just ask for some friggen' help. I don't want to listen to you complaining to the computer.
I'm not even sitting next to her, and I can hear her muttering to herself (if you can call near normal-voice complaining "muttering"). I have a mild case of ADHD woman, and you are AGGRAVATING IT.
Oy. Ok. Back to trying to write this nonsense and worry about upcoming deadlines. While trying to block out the FOW reading whatever is on the computer screen OUT LOUD.
I was planning on getting 10 hours of sleep last night after being up until 5 am the night before.
But, no.
Some guys had to VERY VERY VERY loudly sling heavy metal things into their truck bed at 7:30 this morning. It only took them an hour. Why couldn't they have started at...I dunno...9:30 at the earliest. I needed my sleep! Ugh.
Been super busy. Between working 25 hours a week, taking classes full time, and trying to do homework while still having a life somewhere in there? I'm busy until I crash into my pillow.
I finished The Crimson Shadow trilogy (again. haha). And now I'm reading MiddleSex.
Good times.
VAGINA!
I just finished my week of vagina madness. It started with our show at Roosevelt. Considering the size of our school and the awkward time the show was at, we had a decent turn out of roughly 100 people. This equaled out to roughly 300 bucks for the donation. YAY! The show itself went extremely well, the cast was awesome, and it felt good to be on stage again. The show itself actually encouraged me to want to get involved again next year, despite all the logistical drama that happened this year, haha.
Then I went down to see Purdue's production. It was almost surreal seeing it and knowing that I wasn't directly involved. But I was VERY proud of my girls (Woo Ciara and Carrie!) who totally rocked the production! Not only that but they sold a crap ton of tickets.
I then went to DePaul's production on Saturday. The actresses themselves performed several of the monologues in ways better than I had ever seen. However, I was sort of annoyed that their production broke several rules. While I wish as much as any other director that these rules didn't exist, they do, and they shouldn't be ignored. We are lucky to get the rights for free every year to be a part of this movement, and that right should be respected by following the rules required to get the rights for the show.
< / rant of a v-day veteran >
Now it is just a matter on catching up with life. I have lots of school work to catch up on, and it feels vaguely overwhelming. However, my photo project has been going super well so cheers for that. And...there seems to be something else unexpected popping up in my life right now. I'm not sure where it is going, but for now I'm just enjoying the ride. Yay.
I know I've been a terrible blogger.
I woke up this morning, got ready, picked up v-log posters.
Had lunch with a friend from school/work.
Had posters put up around school.
Had counseling which had much catching-up and also the need to figure out what I want from the last 6 sessions.
Was supposed to do homework, was distracted by internet for awhile.
Ended up eating pudding and talking to a friend from class about her growing up in the 60s and 70s.
Class.
Went to the Border Film Project.
Had pho with Jules.
Went to Formerly Known As...queer party for a bit.
Came home, took 365 shot.
Now getting ready to pass out.
Live has been busy, but I will blog regularly once again soon!!
